I used the level 3 cream for several weeks after sampling the level 2 cream from a sample packet. The level 3 cream is very effective at bringing muscle relief to near-surface muscles, and if you work it deeper into muscles, it can get down there too. The level 3 cream does tingle and feel quite cold on the skin if you use a larger amount of it, and smells noticeably of menthol, though does not feel particularly greasy. Compared to the ointment-based level 4, the level 3 feels colder to the skin and does not get as deep into the joints for deeper-set pain, but on the positive side it is more neutral-feeling on the skin and smells less "bengay" ish. I have ended up gravitating toward the stronger level 4 that feels like it works deeper into joints with less icy tingling sensation, but level 4 is greasier feeling and stronger smelling as its downsides. All of these products have been great for my muscle and joint pain. If you are willing to trade some depth of effectiveness to feel less greasy and smell less "bengay"ish, the level 3 is a great product. If you want more strength and depth of effect and can cope with the feel on your skin and the odor, I highly recommend level 4. All of these products in my experience (I've tried levels 2/3/4) manage to bring fast relief while also feeling like they continue to help after the first 10-15 minutes of sensation wears off!
Although I was skeptical, my accupuncturist said it might help with my ankle pain. Well it did! On a scale of 10 it reduced my pain from a level four to a level 2 rather quickly.
This cream gives me relief. It works for about 4 to 5 hours after you apply it. I love it it really works. I would recommend this product to anybody who has aces and pains in there joints
