I find the salve in the samples to be stronger. Company says it's the same formula and was very accommodating promising me a 50% refund on the stick or a 50% reduction on a future purchase. I opted for the refund and am awaiting that as I write.

I have stenosis which radiates pain down my legs. The pain stick alleviates ( if only temporarily) the pain. MUCH appreciated.
Finally! This is absolutely wonderful. I'm so glad that there is a stick version now. This makes it so much easier to use in the areas that I need this pain medicine. It is also much easier to transport when traveling and doesn't get under your nails or make your hands gross. I can't say enough about this ointment, it really works and goes right into the bones which is where I need it the most.

I have a bone spur in my shoulder and arthritis. This pain stick has been the only thing that allows me to sleep comfortably. It relieves the pain as effectively as medication. I also use it when I get a stiff neck; it works equally well on that. $80 seems very expensive, but it lasts several months.
